Sports Industries Development Centre
Sports Industries Development Centre (SIDC) is a common facilitation centre of Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (SMEDA), Ministry of Industries and Production (MoI&P) Government of Pakistan, which is financially self-sustained since 2017. SIDC is working as common facility center (CFC) and a success story of SMEDA and the Ministry of Industries & Production, Government of Pakistan.
SERVICES OF SIDC FOR LOCAL INDUSTRY
SIDC is providing manufacturing facilities for Thermo ball, Basketball, Volley Ball, Hand Ball, Bladders, Tennis Ball, Cricket Balls, Padel Balls & Squash Balls; Technical Advisory Services, Laboratory Facilities, Workshop facilities, Research & Development, Training of Manpower for SMEs and local sports goods industry.
PROJECT UPDATE, ACHIEVEMENTS / OUTCOMES
- SIDC has facilitated to SMEs for manufacturing of around 12.62million balls, which supported and upgraded the industry and increased the exports of Pakistan. The production from SIDC has contributed around US $ 91.20 Million (PKR 25.54 Billion) to the exports from Pakistan and around US $ 31.30 Million (PKR 8.76 Billion) import decreased & safe the US $.
- SIDC generated revenue by providing manufacturing services to SMEs of local industry as given below:
- SIDC has developed a different process for manufacturing of Thermo ball which approved as SIDC Patent by IPO Pakistan.
- SIDC have trained around 800 workers directly at SIDC and indirectly trained around 2,000 workers in different sections among these trainees mostly trainees are working in different organizations.
- SIDC has provided technical assistance to more than 15 SMEs for setting up of their own manufacturing units by facilitating their linkage with the imported machinery suppliers and through reverse engineering. Some other organizations have set up their industrial units by getting help from SIDC production unit.
- SIDC is an ISO 9001:2015 QMS certified organization.
- Training Curriculum of SIDC has been approved by NAVTTC.
